QUINTECH ANNOUNCES RF ENGINEERING AND COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH CENTER AT UPARC

Quintech Electronics and Communications, Inc., an Indiana, PA based manufacturer of RF (Radio Frequency) signal management and matrix switching equipment for the broadcasting and communications industry, announced today that it has established an R&D office at the UPARC campus in Harmar, PA.

The purpose of the new office will be to move the Company’s Research and Development activities closer to engineering and technological talent available in the greater Pittsburgh area. The Company looks to expand relationships with knowledge and educational institutions such as the University of Pittsburgh, CMU, Penn State New Kensington and Indiana University of Pennsylvania, North Pointe campus. These institutions, along with other technology companies may desire to collaborate with the Company in its efforts to expand its global presence in RF signal management solutions. The Company will actively pursue opportunities in emerging next generation wireless communications and optical networking markets.

“While we are pleased with our present locations for production and basic engineering operations, we felt the need to move closer to the Pittsburgh area “, said G. Daniel Prushnok, President and CEO of the electronics company.

“The growth of the Internet and the sudden increase in content distribution technologies has made Quintech a collaborative RF solutions provider to the telecommunications industry” he added.

“In order to facilitate the collaborative engineering and training necessary to develop cutting edge RF products global customers will demand, Quintech needs to reach out to the intellectual capital resources it requires and attract new and diverse engineering talent from the Pittsburgh market”.

Prushnok said that the Company occupied space in September of 2007 and has committed significant R&D investments to establish what he envisions will be a collaborative RF center of engineering excellence that will attract other communications and related high technology businesses to the region.

SSE & Quintech Collaborate On New LNB Redundancy Solution

INDIANA, PA, January 30, 2007 —  Superior Satellite Engineers (SSE) and Quintech Electronics have collaborated to design a cost-effective new LNB redundancy solution for satellite antennas with prime focus feed systems.  Previously, LNB redundancy has only been available for an antenna with sub-reflectors and LNB’s mounted at the back of the antenna hub. This option has always been prohibitively expensive for most users.  The new SSE/Quintech LNB Redundancy solutions are comprised of the RSP 2150 Redundancy Switch, which supports a backup antenna, and SSE’s Parallel Feed System Solution.  The Parallel Feed System Solution uses a single antenna with a motorized feed horn platform that enables a backup feed horn and LNB’s in case of LNB or Power Module failure of the primary feed horn. The RSP 2150 Redundancy Switch senses a reduction in RF energy below a preset threshold and commands the backup switching sequence.  Dual, parallel DC Power Supplies provide redundant power and are “hot-swappable”, enabling PSU maintenance without taking the system off line.

This new redundancy switch marks the second major joint-venture between SSE and Quintech. The two companies will be co-exhibiting at Satellite 2007 (Booth #449).

Superior Satellite Engineers (SSE) provides proprietary Feed Systems and complete satellite antenna systems for a variety of CATV, Broadcast TV, IPTV and DOD applications. SSE has been an integral part of the communications community for twenty five years.

Quintech Introduces New L-band Substitution Switch

INDIANA, PA, January 30, 2007 — Quintech Electronics introduces the new RSS 1750 L-band Substitution Switch. The RSS 1750 permits up to two alternate signal sources to be routed to any of 24 outputs. This provides flexibility in substituting backup feeds, insertion of test signals for system analysis or re-tasking of a particular signal output. Quintech’s proprietary micro-strip and strip-line technology enables the RSS 1750’s alternate inputs to be reliably matched to the primary inputs, with minimal insertion loss. Control and status is provided either locally via the front panel keypad or remotely through a serial or Ethernet interface.

Quintech Introduces New 70 MHz IF Switchbank

INDIANA, PA, January 30, 2007 — Quintech Electronics introduces the new SRF 0070 70 MHz IF Transfer Switchbank. The switch is designed to facilitate satellite command, monitoring and control functions. It provides six latching transfer switches in a 2 RU enclosure. There are three modes of operation which can be controlled either locally via the front panel or remotely via Ethernet connections. Local control is provided via four front panel switches. Remote control is provided via Ethernet, TCP/IP (10BaseT or faster). The unit meets strict level, match, and loss specifications achieved through the use of Quintech’s proprietary micro-strip and SMT technology.

Quintech Develops New Fiber Link Redundancy Switch

INDIANA, PA, January 30, 2007 — Quintech Electronics will display their new TXS/RXS 2150 8:1 fiber link redundancy switching system at Satellite 2007. The TXS/RXS 2150 8:1 Fiber Link Redundancy System provides the routing mechanism for substituting a backup fiber link for any one of eight main fiber links. In essence, this system provides highly reliable fiber redundancy for 1/8th the cost of installing a redundant fiber link for each primary link.

“Redundancy can be expensive, but this new system represents the most cost effective fiber link redundancy solution on the market. It enables customers to deploy redundancy at a fraction of the cost of 1 to 1 redundancy applications.” said G. Daniel Prushnok, President and CEO.
